Our caring and compassionate veterinary care team.

Dr. Oneeka McBean, DVM

Veterinarian & Medical Director

Dr. Oneeka McBean, a Brooklyn native of Guyanese descent, discovered her passion for animals early, volunteering at local animal shelters from age 14. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with a minor in Biology from Pennsylvania State University. She then went on to earn her doctorate in veterinary medicine from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Professionally, Dr. McBean's interests include companion and exotic animal medicine, dermatology, internal medicine, client education and preventive care. She is a dedicated member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners and a passionate advocate for fear-free animal handling practices. Dr McBean loves the diversity that general practice provides and is passionate about providing high quality veterinary care and surgery to the South Brooklyn community.

Outside her veterinary work, Dr. McBean loves music, playing the trombone, dancing, traveling, and trying new foods. She enjoys quality time spent with her husband, family, friends and of course her pets. Dr McBean and her husband share a household with 5 cats, 12 parakeets, 2 box turtles, and a wide assortment of plants and fish.

Dr. Nicole Dikshteyn, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Nicole Dikshteyn (or Dr. D for short) was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. As a child, she was constantly helping fallen birds and trying to find homes for orphaned kittens. Dr. Dikshteyn knew early on that she wanted to be a veterinarian because of her interest not only in medicine but also animal care.

While studying at Pennsylvania State University, Dr. D spent her free time volunteering at local cat shelters and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences. She went on to complete her graduate degree at the University of Glasgow in Scotland! During her time in Scotland, she gained experience working with exotic species in both clinics and zoos.

Dr. D lives in Brooklyn with her husband, two rabbits (Twinkles and Sprinkles), and two cats (Turtle and Goose). In her free time, you can find her galavanting around Brooklyn looking for the best new restaurant, or exploring the various nature reserves in the area.

Diane Gillespie

Practice Manager

Diane Gillespie was born and raised in Brooklyn and has been a dedicated employee at Noah’s Ark Veterinary Practice since 2004. Starting from the ground up as a Kennel Assistant, she now leads the team as Practice Manager!

From a young age, she showed a deep love for animals, even working as a neighborhood dog sitter. Now that she’s grown up, she holds a degree in Mental Health and Human Services. Her studies have laid the foundation for her career in veterinary medicine -- every day she combines her skills in management with her compassion for both people and animals.

Outside of her professional life, Diane is a devoted wife and mother of two wonderful children. She enjoys spending time with her family whether they are exploring new places, enjoying sunny days at the beach, curling up to have movie night, or having dance parties at home.
